The Itasca County Environmental Services office is responsible for a wide degree of programming within the county including: planning and zoning, zoning permitting, subsurface sewage treatment program, shoreland alterations, solid waste and recycling programming, and staff acts as the liaisons to the Aquatic Invasive Species Program. Our staff is dedicated to serving our citizens and protecting our pristine environment and resources within the county.
SOLID WASTE CHANGES DURING COVID-19
Itasca County Environmental Services would like to make you aware of the following adjustments to solid waste collection for our community. These changes are being made in accordance with state health recommendations for public safety.
The Itasca County Transfer Station and canister sites are open for refuse and recycling drop off during regular business hours, as follows:
Transfer Station: Monday-Saturday, 8:30am-5:00pm
Outlying Canister Sites: Friday, Saturday, & Monday, 8:30am-4:00pm (“Winter Hours” extend through April 14)
Saturday recycling services at Super 1 South and the County’s household hazardous waste collection program are temporarily suspended.
