Pursuant to adjournment, the Itasca County Health & Human Services (ICHHS) Board met on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 in the Itasca County Board Room with the following members present: Chairperson Commissioner Rusty Eichorn (Dist. #4), Vice Chairperson Commissioner Catherine McLynn (Dist. #2), Commissioner Lori Dowling (Dist. #1), Commissioner Karen Burthwick (Dist. #3), and Commissioner Mark Mandich (Dist. #5). Chairperson Rusty Eichorn called the meeting to order at 1:00 P.M. Minutes of November 24, 2009: A motion was made by Commissioner McLynn, and seconded by Commissioner Burthwick to approve the November 24, 2009 minutes as written. Ayes – Dist. #1, #2, #3, #4, and #5. Nays – None. Motion carried. Consent Agenda (CA): A motion was made by Commissioner Mandich, and seconded by Commissioner Dowling to approve the warrants in the amount of $629,913.98, and approve the rest of the Consent Agenda. Ayes – Dist. #1, #2, #3, #4, and #5. Nays – None. Motion carried. |

Additions/Corrections to Agenda: A motion was made by Commissioner McLynn and seconded by Commissioner Mandich to approve the Agenda as presented. Ayes – Dist. #1, #2, #3, #4, and #5. Nays – None. Motion carried. Reports: ICHHS Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes of December 10, 2009: Peter Lotti, representing District #4, gave a brief overview of the December 10, 2009 Advisory Committee Meeting. Highlight of the meeting was the presentation by Arrowhead Transit. A motion was made by Commissioner McLynn and seconded by Commissioner Mandich to accept the minutes of the December 10, 2009 ICHHS Advisory Committee Meeting, with said Minutes to reflect the following changes: Arrowhead Transit also services the communities of Cohasset, Northome, and Squaw Lake; typo in the date of meeting, which should be December 10th and not December 19th. Ayes – Dist. #1, #2, #3, #4, and #5. Nays – None. Motion carried. Arrowhead Transit Update: James Madden and Pam Smith from Arrowhead Transit provided a power point presentation. Pam stated that Arrowhead Transit is a public transportation service, owned and operated by AEOA, and has been public transportation since 1974. All buses are handicap accessible, and drivers undergo extensive training. There are no age or income guidelines. Some of the communities serviced by Arrowhead Transit are: Nashwauk, Keewatin, Bovey, Calumet, Coleraine, Marble, Hill City, Grand Rapids, Remer, Taconite, Northome, Cohasset, and Squaw Lake. Arrowhead Transit also offers an unlimited use pass for Grand Rapids. For $25.00, anyone can ride the bus as many times as they want for the entire month. For those over the age of 90, they can ride the bus for “free” any time and all the time! James and Pam were thanked for their presentation. ICHHS DIVISION UPDATES:
