- Assessor
- The Assessor’s Department determines the value and
classification for tax purposes of real and personal property.
Homestead applications, tax estimates on new construction,
requests to have a valuation reviewed, and property tax questions
should be directed here.

- Attorney
- The Attorney’s office serves as the chief prosecutor for all
adult and juvenile crimes, provides legal council to the County
Board of Commissioners and other County officials and represents the
County in all civil litigation in which the County is involved.
The County Attorney is not authorized to provide legal
counsel to individual citizens.

- Auditor/Treasurer
- The Auditor/Treasurer’s Department manages the County’s
investments and checking account, property tax system (current and
delinquent taxes), elections, and licenses.
The department coordinates the annual budget process and
issues checks for payroll and vendors.

- Court
Administration - The Court Administration Department processes
all court matters Civil, Criminal, Traffic, Family, Probate and
Juvenile. The department
is responsible for Jury Management and collection and distribution
of fines, fees and restitution.

- Environmental
Services
- The Environmental Services Department issues permits for buildings (new,
alterations and replacements), septics, land use, and lakeshore
alterations. Water
testing kits are available here.

- Extension
- The Extension Department provides education in the areas of
agriculture, consumer skills, 4-H youth development, horticulture
and natural resources.

- Health
and Human Services - The Health and Human Services
Department protects, promotes, and improves the health,
independence, and self-sufficiency of all people, families, and
communities in Itasca County. They provide public health,
child support, income maintenance, IMCare and social services to
residents of Itasca County.

- Information
Systems - The Information Services Department is responsible for
the management, support and security of the County’s computer
networks, electronic mail system, telephone system, voice mail
system and website.
|
- Land - The
Land Department is responsible for land management of 300,000 acres
of Itasca County tax forfeited lands. The Department reviews and
comments on state and federal natural resource policy issues. The
Land Commissioner is also the County Agricultural Inspector who is
responsible for administering the MN Noxious Weed Law in Itasca
County.

- Park System
- The Park System is responsible for the management and maintenance
of county parks, recreation areas, public water accesses, and trails
located on direct county owned and tax-forfeited lands.
|
- Probation/Parole
- The Probation Department provides supervision to juveniles and
adults placed on probation by the Courts.
|
- Real
Estate Specialist - The Real Estate Specialist handles sale,
lease and exchange of County lands (includes direct county and
tax-forfeited lands) and rental of County buildings.
Also processes road and utility easements across County
lands.

- Recorder
- The Recorder’s Department handles recording of all real estate
and personal property (UCC) documents, birth, death, marriage and
passports.

- Sheriff's
- The Sheriff’s Office primary concern is the safety and well
being of all persons and property in Itasca County.

Soil and Water
Conservation District - The Itasca SWCD is a local agency which
provides access to conservation and resource management services. In
cooperation with federal, state and local agencies, the District
provides technical assistance,
cost-sharing and natural resource management information and
education. Urban and rural landowners, businesses, industry and
agencies may request these services.

- Surveying
and Mapping - The
Surveyor’s Department is responsible for the restoration and
maintenance of the Public Land Survey System in Itasca County.
|
- Transportation
- The Transportation Department is responsible for constructing and
maintaining roads and bridges on the county highway system.
|
- Veteran's
Services - The Veteran’s Services Department provides
assistance and support to veterans and their dependants in obtaining
veteran benefits through State and Federal Programs and to act as an
advocate on their behalf.
