1. How do I apply for Child Support Services?

If you received Public Assistance, a Child Support Referral is part of the application process. You should contact your Financial Assistance Unit Eligibility Specialist to check status of that.

If you do not receive Public Assistance, please complete an application and return it with any orders that you currently have for Child Support.

2. I am divorced and child support was ordered, what do I do now?

If you currently receive or have applied for Public Assistance, a Child Support Referral is part of that application process. Please contact your case worker in the Financial Assistance Unit.

If you already have an order for child support through a dissolution order, custody order or paternity order, you should fill out an application for child support services.

3. I have an order for child support in another state, how do I get that moved to Minnesota?

If you have an order in another state, Minnesota can collect support by working with the other state. Complete an application and return it with a copy of the other states order. After review of the information provided, the child support officer will request further documentation if necessary to request enforcement from the other state.

5. How do I set up a Direct Deposit Account? What do I need to do?

You may contact your child support officer to have the form mailed to you or you can obtain the forms needed by visiting the Minnesota Department of Human Services page.

6. How can I get a copy of my Itasca County Child Support order?

You may contact Court Administration at 218-327-2870 to get information on and request a copy of your order.
