Overview


​The Planning Commission and Board of Adjustment is a five member board of community residences appointed by the County Board with additional powers and duties given by state statute and the Zoning Ordinance.

​Planning Commission


​The Planning Commission is designated to review conditional use permits, plats, planned unit developments, zoning map amendments, zoning text amendments and to make recommendations to pertaining to the comprehensive land use plan and ordinances (sanitation, subdivision and zoning). 

Board of Adjustment

The Board of Adjustment has the exclusive authority to order variances from the terms of the zoning and sanitation ordinance..   They also have the authority to hear and decide appeals made by and administrative official within the Environmental Services Department

Public Hearings

Public Hearings are typically scheduled the Second Wednesday of each month starting at 9:00 am. On occasion special meetings are called and/or meeting times may be pushed back if there is a site inspection coinciding with the public hearing.
